I see “coin re-aggregate” messages being sent between the validators on chain quite often. It appears they gain consensus to change exchange rates of coins. I’m unsure if I’m correct here, but If validators have the ability to change the exchange rates between the lesser coins and ustc:

  1. Why wasn’t this enacted to protect against the initial attacks efficiently

  2. Why not just reach quorum now with all validators to switch the exchange rates against ustc and each other to zero, thus making the lesser coins worthless

I don’t want to offend anyone. By lesser coins, I mean not as many in existence.

I’m far from an expert on these workings and might be wrong about the above. If so, I apologise
