Without expressing any opinion on the proposal, for me it’s surely a red flag - bad communication when you sign a proposal for payment or any related cash flow including yourself and straightforwardly you vote yes with your validator. You should abstain. It’s unethical, malicious, and manipulating.

To add to my previous comment. Let’s say tomorrow the top 3 validators submit a proposal asking for 10m $ for their infrastructure costs, or whatever. They have the power to vote yes and this proposal to easily passes, do you think that is the right way to ask for money?
Form a legal entity that will include all employees working on the chain, with transparency, documentation, and reporting. After that put a proposal for funding mechanisms of that entity, and how that funding will be allocated. Not just asking directly for money. This is all wrong and I’m really frustrated with how people, professionals, who know very well the procedures and how projects are funded in real businesses, and/or academia, etc., accepted that kind of communication.

It looks like TFL is willing to hand over TS to TR. This means that development of a new backend is not needed any longer. TR (and others) can further develop on TS and therefor save a lot of money and spend this on other projects.

And the bottom line is they build this copy and paste RS without being asked to do so by the community. It’s up to us to decide if we want it and frankly at this point the funds we have at this point should be used for building the core component of the chain. I am worried that after 6 months the organization that we trusted cannot give a detailed proposal associated with cost of the stages required to build the chain. We should not be paying for just Band Aid Patches. I have over 40 years of implementing computer systems. I do not implement any system without using the POSDC of management. Every implementation starts with an analysis of what is required followed by a proposal to the stakeholder outlining the stages, timeline and associated cost. Now after six months the community has not seen one such proposal. This indeed is a red flag.

Can’t say I like the recent passing of such a high increase of burn going to the community pool as 1) supply needs a reduction which this will slow down and 2) a fear of collusion to distribute the added funds through future proposals. I get there needs to be something out there to entice developers, but 5x seems like a huge cut into the already slow burning process.
I don’t think we needed RS right now as it’s not clear, to me at least, as to why this was released at this point. My worry is whether the focus is on the right things.

Honestly, aside from Ed and Alex, no one seems to have real world experience of how to write, present, and communicate a proposal, especially asking for funds. I don’t judge their technical background here, or their professional skills, but to write a professional technical document, report, article, proposal, etc. needs skills, experience, and knowledge as well. As I said before, form a legal entity and choose a person with experience to lead, Ed or someone else, I personally don’t have any preference, but to be professional and experienced working with teams. Write documentation with all the details needed on how this entity will work, obligations, reporting, how they will hire employees, how they will pay them, from where they will be funded and how, etc. all these kinds of procedures in detail and professionally written so there won’t be any misconceptions. Something else, you propose a roadmap you can give the community a request for comments period and after that put a proposal. You can’t improvise and choose what you think is the priority, or a necessity, and after that directly ask for money because you’ve been working on a task nobody knows, informed, or accepted. Professionalism needed guys, I’m ok with decentralization that’s why we all are here, but someone needs to lead on some specific tasks, organize, and manage what has to be done and how, because right now it’s complete chaos.

It might be a good thing to get away from Tr, no matter how much it costs…
My doubt is how do you demonstrate the “good faith” of those who spend this money?
I’m thinking why limit yourself to copying and not adding valuable features to the new “terra station”?
I’m just asking to better understand the situation.

Because every bit of code that is required to be changed or added to terra station requires still the approval of TFL, thus a bottleneck, also terra station continues to use a infrastructure that will eventually go away over time, rebel station is an answer to all of that.
Will RS need an update for interchain operability? If yes , why are we paying to use a copy & paste UI?
Time is relative. However if you have already built your infrastructure why do we have to pay for it when it belongs to TR. We did not pass any proposal to purchase such equipment.

Actually, Jared from TFL was in a AMA last night I was in and openly admitted that they do intend to sunset Terra Station to legacy and the underlining infrastructure that goes with it will eventually be shutdown, no timeline can be provided at this time, however, it is coming soon. Those were his words, the question was asked to Jared_TFL by Lambchop, so if you want, DYOR further and your find more truth.

Ok, so Jared (from TFL) said nothing about the lab ending support for Lunc ~ he did say eventually it’ll be in the community’s best interest to do it’s own designing and implementing… Jared said nothing about the end of wallet support for us happening soon ~ a new wallet is something we can do later, in a less expensive way!

Just more of the constant bickering and arguing we have today about development and who should do it and how any quoted amount is too expensive and eventually the cloned version will be out-of-date and useless or something will break and we will be left stranded.

I did not expect the AMA to go on for that now. It was not planned and I was in and out of the AMA.
What I have provided was a key part to the reason of the spend prop TR has put forward. We can all sit here and continue to rely on TFL in hopes that they continue to support Luna Classic though, they are not obligated to and can pull infrastructure support when they see fit or we can plan ahead and act on it now rather than wait for them to pull the plug to figure out a solution.
It is evident that TFL WILL be pulling support. So the question is that is the community going to continue to be dependent on TFL or will the community take a step to independence from TFL?

Allnodes might have a better option, since they are running things currently… since we have time, we should call for more proposals for the matter and weigh the options carefully ~ in preparation for a full migration to an independent wallet. The Rebels lack attention to detail, why hire them?
